The sensor operates in diffuse mode specifically for detecting PCBs, utilizing a special light spot configuration. It has a detection range of 25 to 50 mm with a reference target size of 100 mm x 100 mm. The light source is a modulated visible red LED at a wavelength of 645 nm, producing a light spot approximately 4 mm x 35 mm at a distance of 50 mm. The Designation Code for this device is ML8-8-HGU-50-RT/103/143/162.

This sensor features a narrow opening angle of 1.5° vertically and 35° horizontally, making it suitable for precise applications. It is equipped with two yellow LEDs that serve as function indicators, illuminating when detection occurs.

Electrical specifications include a supply voltage range of 10 to 30 V DC, with a maximum ripple of 10%. The no-load supply current is less than 20 mA. The output is a light-on signal with a PNP output that is short-circuit and reverse polarity protected, supporting a maximum switching voltage of 30 V DC and a switching current of 100 mA.

In terms of environmental resilience, the sensor operates within an ambient temperature range of -20 to 60 °C and can be stored at temperatures between -40 to 70 °C. It has an IP65/IP67 degree of protection and connects via a 4-pin M8 x 1 connector. The housing is made from glass-fiber-reinforced polycarbonate, while the optical face is crafted from PMMA, contributing to a compact mass of approximately 10 g.
