The Class 3400 (H34) Smart Meters incorporate advanced dual protocol communications that facilitate simultaneous connectivity with up to two energy monitoring systems. This includes integration with building automation systems (BAS) for energy monitoring, billing, and measurement and verification (M&V) reporting tools. An optional feature package is available, which adds functionalities for load control alongside two pulse outputs for kWh and kVARh.

Equipped with a user-friendly 4-line LCD display that features backlighting, the meter supports both RS485 and Ethernet communications. The design adheres to ANSI C12.20 and UL/CUL regulatory approvals, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Operational parameters include a minimum ambient temperature of -4 °F (-20 °C) and a maximum of 122 °F (50 °C), with a maximum humidity rating of 95% non-condensing.

This meter is versatile, accommodating both 1 or 2 phase configurations using a 3 or 4 wire input voltage setup, with a frequency range of 50 Hz to 60 Hz. The Class 3400 achieves an accuracy of ±1% across a load range from 1% to 100% of rated capacity, making it suitable for commercial and industrial applications. The enclosure is constructed from JIC Steel, ensuring durability in various environments.
