The retroreflective sensor, designated as ML7-55/59/82b/103/115, is optimized for a variety of standard applications. Its compact design incorporates a polarization filter and a front optical face, allowing for effective detection at a maximum range of 3.5 meters. The sensor employs modulated visible red light as its light source, providing a clear operational signal with a detection spot diameter of approximately 180 mm at 3.5 meters.

This device features a dark-on switching type with a single PNP output, which is short-circuit and reverse polarity protected. The output is inactive when the signal falls below the operating reserve, and it is immediately disabled if the light beam is interrupted four times during the flash time. The operating voltage ranges from 10 to 30 V DC, with a maximum ripple of 10% and a no-load supply current less than 20 mA.

In terms of durability, the sensor is rated to operate within an ambient temperature range of -20 to 60 °C and can be stored at temperatures as low as -40 °C and as high as 75 °C. The housing is constructed from glass-fiber-reinforced Makrolon, while the optical face is made of PMMA, contributing to its high degree of protection with IP67 and IP69K ratings. This sensor complies with the EN 60947-5-2 product standard and is suitable for use in environments with ambient light up to 40,000 Lux.
