Consisting of V0 material, the arrestor serves as overvoltage protection and is used in applications according to IEC 61643-12. The use of a high-performance varistor in combination with sparkover gaps satisfies the inspection requirements for Class II surge protection systems on the basis of the standards. The leakage current-free arrestor is installed in the vicinity of the power supply for the equipment that needs protection, in a commercially available installation/electrical distribution enclosure.
