K-Factor Ventilated Transformers - PN
K-Factor Transformers are engineered to accommodate harmonic currents generated by non-linear loads, effectively preventing insulation system temperature ratings from being exceeded. This design mitigates the effects of naturally occurring stray losses that can lead to significant overheating and premature failure in standard transformers. The transformer’s core and coil configuration efficiently manages DC flux resulting from triplen harmonics. Rated for Group A with K-4 specifications, the transformer operates on a 480 ∆ primary voltage with a 208Y/120 secondary voltage, and is available in various kVA ratings including 15, 30, 45, 75, 112.5, 150, 225, 300, and 500. Additionally, Group B and Group C configurations are available, with K-13 and K-20 ratings respectively, across similar voltage and kVA specifications.Designed for three-phase applications, this transformer operates at a frequency of 60 Hz and features aluminum windings with a temperature rise rating of +150°C.
