EDS Factory Sealed Tumbler Switches - PN
The EDS Series factory sealed tumbler switches are specifically constructed to operate in hazardous areas where ignitable vapors, gases, or combustible dusts may be present. They ensure the confinement of arcing within the switches, effectively preventing ignition during the connect and disconnect operations of lighting and light power loads. These switches are suitable for application in industries such as chemical processing and petrochemical plants. The construction features a malleable iron body and covers, with an optional aluminum sealing chamber that is copper-free (maximum of 0.4%). The handle is made from nylon 6/6, while the mounting bracket for the corrosion-resistant stainless steel nameplate is available optionally. The switches come with a durable triple-coat finish comprising zinc electroplating, chromate, and epoxy powder coat, providing enhanced protection against environmental factors. The EDS Series is certified to meet NEC and CEC standards for Class I, Division 1 and 2, Groups B, C, D; Class II, Division 1 and 2, Groups E, F, G; and Class III, along with a NEMA 3, 7 BCD, and 9 EFG rating.
